What We Do

Mission

The core mission of Conversation for Civility (C𝑓C) is to promote the Five Discussion Disciplines (5DDs) as a practical methodology for helping people have better conversations. By doing so, C𝑓C seeks to reclaim our collective capacity for respectful dialogue, breaking the pervasive habits of disparagement and dismissal that fuel polarization. The organization’s vision is to empower communities and organizations to solve their most complex social problems inclusively, safely, and effectively by creating space for participants to recognize the co-creator in each other, leading to more innovative solutions, stronger relationships, and a greater commitment to act.

To achieve its mission, C𝑓C focuses on a set of integrated activities designed to support individuals, groups, and communities at every stage of their journey toward more effective dialogue.
